Vera Parry:
Vera (Chivall) Parry, 88, formerly of 4 Westminster St., Westerly, died Saturday at the Westerly Health Center. She was the wife of the late Sam Parry. Born in Devonshire, England, July, 1, 1899, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Mary Jane (Bennett) Chivall. Mrs. Parry was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She and her husband were founders of the Westerly Gold Star Parents. Survivors include two daughters, Pearl Tapley and Vera Glynn, both of Westerly; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Edward Parry. The funeral will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Park Avenue Westerly, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in River Bend Cemetery, Westerly. Calling hours are at the Schilke Funeral Home, 46 Granite St., Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
