John Henry Carbaugh died Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Olive Hull, 118 Cumberland Street, Clear Spring, after an illness of several months, age 88 years.

He was born at Dry Run and was a lifelong resident of the Clear Spring area. He was a member of the Blair's Valley Church of God.

He was the husband of the late Ida May Carbaugh and the son of the late Mary Greer and John W. Carbaugh.

Besides his daughter, he is survived by sons, Russell Tilghmanton, John K. and Jacob M.; sisters, Mrs. Annie Rhodes and Mrs. Susan Forsythe, half-sister Mrs. Cora Bricker; brother, Jacob; half-brothers, Lloyd Carbaugh, Fred and Joseph; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
