Mrs. Elizabeth Theodosia Ward Altman, widow of John Altman, of the Suttons section of Williamsburg County, died Thursday.

The funeral will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m in Suttons Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Altman, a daughter of the late John Ward and the late Mrs. Hester [Altman] Ward, was born Dec. 28, 1877, in Williamsburg County. She attended private schools. She was the oldest member of Suttons Methodist Church.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Claude McLean, Mrs. Elmer Wilson, Mrs. Dennis Ward, Mrs. Freeman Ward, Mrs. Leroy Morris, and Miss Willie Etta Altman, all of Andrews; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a half sister, Mrs. Jane Bratcher of Andrews.

Note: The published obituary has Theodosia's mother's maiden name, incorrectly, as Lambert. She was Hester Altman, the first of two sisters who, in sequence, married Jmy great-grandfather John Ward. The second sister, Mary, became--many years later-- my great-grandmother. -RDL
