She was the daughter of the late John William and Alice Shirey Bayless. She was preceded in death several years ago by two sisters, Mrs. Edna Abraham and Mrs. Elizabeth Moore.
Her girlhood was spent at West Union and in her childhood, she united in faith with the Baptist church at West Union and was faithful in her attendance there for many years. She was also a member of the Rebeccah Lodge. She was a graduate of West Union High School, Class of 1912.
On July 11, 1919, she was united in marriage to George T. Brownlee. And to this happy union was born one child, a daughter, Georgia Ruth, now Mrs. Harlan Grooms, of Hartwell, Ohio.
Of her life it can truthfully be said she was a faithful, good and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. One who strived hard to make a nice home for her family. Faithful in all the duties of her home, the last days were spent with thoughts and care for her family and home as only the thoughts of a devoted wife and mother could be.
She leaves to mourn her passing two grandsons, whom she loved dearly, Larry and Gary Grooms, and one sister, Mrs. Nora Sheeley of Bethel, Ohio and a host of relatives and friends.
