Harriet "Hattie" Wynne Norman was the daughter of Wilson Wynne Norman and Mary (Burrus) Norman. She married William Octavius Whitehurst on September 30, 1888 at Springhope, North Carolina. They were the parents of one child: Octavia. Following his death, she married Robert Curtis Rivers on December 19, 1894 at Goldsboro, North Carolina.
