Mike was born April 20, 1948, in McComb, the son of Francis Leo Malone and Alma Lee Allen Malone. He attended Vidalia Presbyterian Church, was past president of the Natchez Civitan Club, and was a member of the board of directors of the Salvation Army. Mike retired after 30 years in the banking industry, having worked at Britton & Koontz Bank for 25 years and for United Mississippi Bank for five years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Pat Malone.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia W. Malone of Natchez; two daughters, Alicia Rankin Hughes and husband Keith of Little Rock, Ark., and Amy Rankin Byrne and husband Patrick of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Lucie Hughes, Henry Hughes, Beatrice Byrne and Francis Byrne; one goddaughter, Brooke Sullivan of Natchez; two brothers, Mitch Malone of Meridian, and Mark Malone of Brookhaven; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Will Heirtzler, Jake Heirtzler, Andrew Malone, Jeff Thompson, Luke Janette, Joel Misita, Phillip Zuccaro and Jimmy Whitehead.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Vidalia Presbyterian Church.
