---James Wesley Baldwin who had been in failing health for a number of weeks, died Monday morning, January 3, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G.A. Smoot.
---James W. Baldwin was born in Schuyler County, Missouri on June 9, 1849. He was married to Liticia Phillips on August 6, 1871. To this union were born eleven children, two of which died in infancy. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Elic Baldwin of Inverness, Mississippi, William Baldwin of Devalls Bluff, Arkansas, Mrs. May Sullivan of Atlanta, Missouri, Belle Streight of Hazen, Arkansas, Mrs. Liticia Grugum of Moberly, Missouri, Mrs. Mary Stull of Roseville, Illinois, Mrs. Bessie Patton of Union, New York, Mrs. Jessie Erickson of Moline, Illinois and Mrs. Alta Smoot of La Plata.
---The deceased had been a resident of Macon County for the past twenty-five years and is well known. He was in failing health for the past two years and always bore his suffering with patience.
---He was a kind and loving husband and father.
---The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. F.L. Davis, pastor of the Christian Church. Interment was made in the La Plata cemetery.

1) Alexander "Elic" Baldwin (1874-1946)
2) Charity May Baldwin Sullivan (1875-____)

4) William Baldwin (1880-____)
5) Mary Baldwin Stull (1882-1958)
6) Leticia "Trecy" Baldwin Grugum (1884-1941)
7) Alta Blanche Baldwin Curtis (1889-1975)
8) Bessie Edna Baldwin Patton Williams (1891-1986)
9) Jessie Delane Baldwin Erickson (1891-1976)
