Michael Orth, son of Leonard and Elizabeth Orth, was born near Corydon, Iowa, August 7, 1870 and passed away at his home October 28, 1922 at the age of fifty-two years, two months and twenty-one days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Pheobe Ross on November 10, 1901 and to this union seven children were born, the first, a daughter dying in infancy, the others Marie, Robert, Glenn, Ardia, Lavora and Evelyn, all at home. Besides the wife and children he leaves the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. G. B. Lewis, Corydon, Mrs. Elizabeth West, Thayer, Kans., Mrs. Minnie Sanders, Corydon, Mrs. Philip Heilman, Harvard; Mr. Philip Glowe, Cordyon and J. G. Glowe of Jenkins Minnesota. Two sisters , Mrs. ?Adam Nickel? and Mrs. Kate Landers proceeded him in death. Besides these many distant relatives and friends.

Early in life Mr. Orth was baptized in the German Lutheran church and remained always an earnest convert to that faith.

Mike was a sturdy, upright man of exceptional character, a highly moral man, whom we know to be held in high esteem by all who know him.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. Keast of the Methodist church. Interment was in the Corydon cemetery.
