Services for J.D. "Rowdy" Richardson, 82, of Lubbock formerly of Hereford, will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Church of Christ of Crosbyton with Dale Mannon officiating. Military graveside rites will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Rowdy passed away Monday morning, December 27, 2010 in Lubbock.

Rowdy was born March 15, 1928 in Muleshoe, Texas to the late William and Essie May (Childs) Richardson. Rowdy served the U.S. Marines in WWII. He married Beverly Ann Harper on April 15, 1970 in Clovis, NM. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2010. A truck driver, he was a member of Greenlawn Church of Christ, and a member of the VFW of Hereford.

Rowdy is preceded in death, by a daughter Diana Lynn Richardson, four brothers Lonnie, Manzey, Donnie and L.D. Richardson, and five sisters, Vertie Powell, Vesta Dewbre, Tenia Cooper, Ollie Hash and Bertha Boggs.

Survivors include a son, Ray Richardson of Lubbock, five daughters, Jaime Richardson of Lubbock, Barbara DeFries of Longview, WA, Debbie Wagner of Wolfforth, Toni Gilliam of Colton, CA., and Joyce Elaine "Chicky" Richardson of California, three brothers, Rev. Paul and Sandy Richardson, both of Amarillo, Tx., and one sister Betty Boggs of Hereford, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
