Ephriam Evers was the son of William James Evers and his wife Nancy Ann Allen. He was born 1840 in Bladen County, North Carolina. He had two brothers, William H, and Dennis Evers, who also died of disease in Elmira Prison in the spring of 1865. His siblings were Mary Margaret Evers Graves, James, Charles, John J, Ily, Martha J, Exeanna, H J, and RM Evers. He served the Confederate Army in Company K, 40th NC Regiment.
