As a child he came with his parents to Nebraska and settled in Fillmore county, where he grew to manhood. February 5, 1913, he was united in marriage to Anna Leimbach at Beatrice, Neb.
They moved to a farm in Chelsea township, where they still resided. February 15, 1919, this union was blessed with a daughter, Wilma Viola, who lived but five days.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife Anna, three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Renner of Stratton, Col., Mrs. Tillie Jurgens of Bruning and Mrs. Emma Garrels of Alberta, Canada; and four brothers, Henry of Bruning, Fred of Oak, Robert of Strang, and Charles of Carlton. One sister, Mrs. Clara Van Buren, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday, August 3, at the Kritner Funeral Home in Geneva. Rev. David Tudor of Aurora officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
