Visitation for Genevieve Gopon will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Monday, March 2, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Mary Catholic Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Born Nov. 8, 1914, in Chicago, to Michael and Emelia (nee Stolarz) Pustelnik, she died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at The Garlands of Barrington. Mrs. Gopon is survived by her children, Leon M. (Sharon) Gopon of Buffalo Grove and Gene G. (Julie) Gopon of Highland Park; her grandchildren, Denise (Patrick) Larsen, Gregg, Jeff, Kevin (Tina) and Steve Gopon; her great-grandchildren, Julie, Jess, Nick, Sam, Regina, Renee, Michael and Gene II; and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve was preceded in death by her sisters, Henrietta and Lena Step; and by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Northwest Suburban United Way, 550 Business Center Drive, Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
