David S. "Dave" Lee, 60, of rural Spencerville, died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday in the Cleveland Clinic, where he had been a patient since Dec. 7.
He was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Lima to Paul M. and Juanita C. (Bowers) Lee, who preceded him in death.
On June 20, 1970, he married Connie M. Harbert, who survives.
Survivors also include children Jason (Jessica) Lee and Jennifer (Mike) Patton of Spencerville, Julie (Michael) Bogdan of Rome and Jessica (Damian) Conley and Joel (Miranda) Lee of Spencerville; eight siblings, Mike (Janet) Lee and Pastor Phil (Debbie) Lee of Lima, Kathy (Jim) Caudill, Steve Lee, Doug Lee, Jeff (Nancy) Lee and Mark (Theresa) Lee of Spencerville and Joan (Glenn) Wasser of Atlanta; brother-in-law John Flanagan of Spencerville; grandchildren Austin Lee, twins Morgan and Caitlin Lee, Brandon and Alyssa Lee, Hunter, McKenna and Emma Patton, Bryce, Carly and Brady Bogdan, Olivia, Isabella and Owen Conley and expecting another one; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Evan Patton; and a sister, Tammy Flanagan.
Mr. Lee was a 1968 graduate of Spencerville High School and had attended the Lima campus of Ohio State University. He was a lifelong farmer and had retired in June 2010 from Shawnee Local Schools, where he worked in maintenance. He was a longtime member and elder of the New Hope Christian Center in Lima. He volunteered at its center at the Square Outreach Center in downtown Lima.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Christian Center on Baty Road, Pastor Jim Menke officiating. Burial will be in Hartford Cemetery, northeast of Spencerville.
