Raphael Cook was born April 14, 1882 in DeKalb county, Missouri, passed away in St. Joseph May 20, 1925, aged 43 years, 1 month and 6 days. He grew to young manhood on the farm near Oak, until 19 years of age, when he removed with his parents to Cosby where they have since resided. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Kelley of Cosby, Mo. On May 11, 1917. who survives him. He was preceded in death by his father, Shelby S. Cook who died September 7, 1917, and also by an only brother, Ira, who Passed away Nov 8, 1899. Besides his devoted wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ava Cook who is very low at her home in Cosby and three sisters, Mrs. Alba McCormick of Chillicothe, Mo., Mrs. Naomi Murphy of Oregon, Mo., and Mrs. Martha Faubion of Cosby, who is taking care of her feeble mother. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity at Cosby, Mo., which order had charge of the services. The Funeral was held at Bethel Church in Andrew county Friday afternoon, May 22, Rev. Pope officiating. The white apron and gloves, a badge of Free Masonery which was worn by W. S. Hamilton at the funeral of the father, S. S. Cook, was also worn at this funeral. Mr. Hamilton then presented them to the family as a sacred remembrance.
