Mr. Byrd was a retired Boilermaker with the Alabama Dry Dock Shipyard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, 1st Division, 26th Infantry, Company C. and was a past master of the Sand Hill Lodge #442. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Sand Hill.
Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 ½ years Pauline Byrd.
He is survived by his daughters, Regena (Walter) Bailey and Renee' Brewer, and his son Crawford (Tammy) Byrd Jr., all of Sand Hill. He is also survived by his brothers, Charlie J. Byrd of Sand Hill, Norris E. Byrd of Neely, sister; Sue Williams of Neely, grandchildren; Aaron (Holly) Byrd, Jared Brewer, Joshua Byrd, Jenna Brewer, and Justin Huguet, and one great grand child, Isabella Byrd.
