Lloyd Blood Cottrell, age 81, passed away on December 19, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lloyd was born May 11, 1929 in Kaysville, Utah to Henry James Cottrell and Myrtle Blood. He married Veda Nadine Jentzsch on January 10, 1956 in Farmington, Utah.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Lloyd was a talented singer and a dedicated family man. His family enjoyed the sound of his beautiful voice, and will profoundly miss the tonal harmony God blessed him with.

As a devout temple worker, and involved community member, his soul touched many and his good works gave many more a chance at life, faith, and happiness.

Most importantly, Lloyd's love and pride in his family was his most enduring quality, and could be seen in his smile, heard in his voice, and felt in his touch. He will be missed in this life, but he left the world better than he found it. He was a member of the Republican Party.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, V. Nadine; children, Yvonne (Kent) Cheek, Lloyd (Nancy) Cottrell, Lucinda (Joe) Mills, Holliann Varela, Lyle (Connie) Cottrell, and Ceresse Wesel; fourteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and granddaughter, Stacey Robley.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
