She was born September 28, 1921, in Marshall, Texas.
Thelma joined the Army Air Force in 1943 and was awarded the American Theatre Campaign, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon and WAAC Service Ribbon. While stationed in Germany, she met, outranked and married John W. Eggen.
In 1960, they moved to Lawton Oklahoma, where they raised three children, John, Michael and Lisa. As a homemaker, she was most happy baking birthday cakes and cookies for family and friends. Always trying something new, quilting became her favorite hobby, making quilts for everyone she knew.
Mrs. Eggen is survived by her husband of 55 years, John "Jack"; sons John and Michael Eggen; daughter Lisa Harris; granddaughter Kasie Collier; and brothers Frank, Allen and Gordon Jones.
