In 1944, the family moved to B.C. taking up residence in Yarrow. She graduated from Sharon Mennonite Collegiate in Yarrow and went on to Normal School to qualify as a teacher. After teaching for a number of years, she spent two years at the Mennonite Brethren Bible College in Winnipeg.
She subsequently attended summer sessions at the University of British Columbia and received a Bachelor of Education degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Yarrow Elementary School.
She continued her teaching profession until her early departure.
Agnes always showed a deep sincere concern for children and worked with zeal and dedication in her calling as a teacher. This concern and dedication was even more evident in her church work.
Throughout most of her adult life, she was involved in teaching Sunday School, and more recently was instrumental in establishing a Pioneer Girl's program at the Culloden Mennonite Brethren Chuch.
Agnes passed a way June 16th 1974. She was predeceased by her father in 1957.
She leaves to mourn: her mother, Mrs. C. Aganetha Allert; three brothers Neil of Abbotsford, Helmut of Kamloops and John of 100 Mile House; three sisters: Katherine, Hilda and Lillian all of Vancouver; three nieces, five nephews and many friends and relatives.
The funeral for Agnes Allert was held June 20th 1974 in the Culloden Mennonite Brethren Church in Vancouver, B.C. with Rev. D.B. Wiens officiating.
Interment was at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery, Chilliwack Regional District, B.C.
