WWII VETERAN
UNITED STATES ARMY

Carl T. Adams, son of Charlie and Rettie Adams, was born December 4, 1920 and died February 19, 1973, making his stay on earth 52 years, 2 months, and 15 days. He was married to Lorraine Riale on April 20, 1942 and to their union was born eight children, one which preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and seven children: Carl T. Jr. of St. Georges, Delaware, Timothy of Port Deposit, and Dennis W., Ronald R., Major D., John C., Roger A., all of the home. Three brothers: Clarence C. of Colora, Collen A. of North East, and Charles S. of Port Deposit. Two sisters: Mrs. Hazel J. Dietzel of Perryville and Mrs. Iva V. Keller of Perry Point, and four grandchildren.
Brother Carl professed a hope in Christ in 1956 and joined New Bridge Baptist Church. He was baptized into the church by Elder Coy Powers and Elder Smith Roberts. He remained there until our Lord called him to rest.
Brother Carl had been sick for a long time but bore his sickness with much patience. Carl was ready to make the great crossing and was waiting for God to call him out of his sickness and trouble when the time did come for him to go. It seemed as if he just fell asleep and I, without a shadow of a doubt, truly believe that Brother Carl has gained that rest that is promised to the children of God.
We have lost our oldest brother and the church has lost a member and suffered a great loss too, by losing his prayer. If anyone ever sees Brother Carol again, it will be in that heavenly country. Just before Brother Carl passed away he sang church songs all day and night. He loved to hear the gospel of the Son of God preached in its power and hear the good songs of Zion sung in his presence.
Carl will be missed in his home, also in the community, but God has called and we will have to be submissive to his will. I would say to his companion and children, "if you are not ready to meet God in peace, please turn to Him now and seek his offered mercy before it is too late." You and I too will soon answer the same call.
Written by his brother, Collen Adams.
