Brenda Jean Carter Doxie, a much loved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, Aunt and Friend was born on May 24, 1950 in Los Angeles, California to Sharper Carter Jr. and Lillie Pearl Ball, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the fifth of eight children raised by their Aunt and Uncle Susan and William Carew.

The days we do not think of you,
are very hard to find.
Our hearts still ache with sadness,
and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
no one will ever know.
There will always be a heartache,
and often a silent tear.
But always a precious memory,
of the days when you were here.
Mom, so many images come to mind,
whenever I speak your name.
It seems without you in my life,
things just will not seem the same.
What happened to those lazy days,
when I was just a child...
when my life was consumed by you,
