Estelle Hayes McCraw, 95, of Magnolias of Gaffney, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late J. Mark Hayes and the late Melissa Price Hayes. She was a graduate of Limestone College and spent her entire career as an elementary school teacher.
Mrs. McCraw was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. McCraw was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, C.Q. McCraw.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith McCraw Bratton of Charlotte; a brother, T.R. (Pete) Hayes of Gaffney; and two sisters, Mayme H. Hause of Florence and Maye H. Short of Gaffney.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mike Frazier. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Ruppe, Timmy Ruppe, Tim Wood and Bill Price.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of S.C., 407 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340; or to Cherokee Creek Baptist Church Senior Adult, 502 Buck Shoals Rd., Gaffney, S.C. 29341.
