Funeral services for John J. Harkey, 92, of Collinsville were held Tuesday, May 12, at 2 pm at the Huff Chapel in Whitesboro. He died Sunday, May 10, 1981, at the Medical Plaza Hospital of Sherman.
Rev. Hugh Newsom of the Miller Memorial Baptist Church in Collinsville conducted the services.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, southwest of Collinsville, under the direction of Huff Funeral Home, Whitesboro.
Mr. Harkey was born on December 16, 1889, in Cooke County, the son of Joseph Henry and Cordelia Jane Reeves Harkey.
He was a retired cotton gin employee and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were; Lewis Cavin, Joe Cavin, Bob Walker, Carroll Cunningham, Rusty Renfroe, and T.J. Click.
