Laban Carico was the son of John Martin and Louisa Buchanan Carico(Edwards). He was first married to Martha Ada Meade. After the death of Martha Ada Meade Carico, he married Cora Julia Beverly, daughter of Frank Monroe and Mary Jane Fleming Beverly. He was the grandson of Martin J. and Rachael Wyatt Carico of the Sandy Ridge Community. He lived most of his life in the Sandy Ridge area of Wise County and in the Mill Creek area near Pound, Virginia. He lived here at his death and is buried on a hillside not from from his old home place.
