Laurie Ackerman - SAVANNAH - Laurie Ackerman, 71, died May 15, 2010 at Hospice Savannah.

The Effingham County native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and the Coastal Contractor's Association. He graduated from Georgia Teacher's College and was owner of Laurie Ackerman, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ackerman; children, Tina, Terri, Tim, Chris, Eric, and Cody; sisters, Mary and Sarah; brother, Eddie, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Rincon. Interment: Rincon Cemetery. Remembrances: Hospice Savannah, PO Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416. Thomas C.
