Area Pioneer Dies Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Thad Rubottom, 85, Eakly pioneer were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 21 at the Eakly United Methodist church Rev. W.C. Willis, pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. Jesse Haney.
Mrs. Rubottom died Sunday the Carnegie Nursing Home where she had been a patient the last three months. She had been in ill health several years. Interment was in the Eakly cemetery.
Born February 17, 1886, in Indianola, Ill., and moved with her parents to the Eakly community in 1907. She was married to Thad Rubottom of Shickley, Neb. December 25, 1909. They resided in Shickley until the fall of 1921 when they moved into Carnegie.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Laura Adams, Carnegie; Pearl Rubottom, Danville, Ill.; and Ruby Terhune, Weatherford.
