Lancaster Lovett was living in Norfolk Co, VA by 6 Feb 1638 and was closely associated with the families of MARTIN, CARRAWAY, KEMP, & KEELING. He married 1st Bathsheba, prior to Aug 1643 . His 2nd wife was Ann.

In 1651 Lancaster Lovett patented 200 acres in Linhaven on Benet Creek,and with John Martin 6 00 acres at about the same place

"In the name of God Amen, I Lancaster Lovett of Linhaven, Lower NorfolkCounty, Va., being i n good health and sound of mind and memory blessed beGod, but knowing the certainty of deat h and the time thereof mostuncertain and being willing to settle my estate which God hath bee npleased to bestow upon me do make this my Last Will &Testament in mannerand form following:
Imp: When it shall please God to call me out of this troublesome andtransitory life, I bequea th my soul to Christ my Saviour & Redeemer bythe merits of whose death and resurrection I hop e to receive redemptionfor all my sins and my body to be decently interred according to thema nner and custom of the Church of England and all my worldly goods asfolloweth: Viz: My will a nd desire is that in the first place all my justdebts be paid whether due by bills bonds or o therwise.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my sonne Lancaster Lovett 300 acres ofland being the plantatio n whereon I now live from the land point to thelyne of marked trees west to the land of Richa rd Poole and so from thecreek south(?) into the woods to containe the above said quantity. My loveing wife, Ann Lovett. to enjoy the one half of the 300 acres bothcleare ground, orchard , woodland and hauling equally for and during hernatural life and after the whole 300 acres t o my said son LancasterLovett and his heirs forever.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my sonne Jno Lovett 300 acres of land nowadjoyning to my son L ancaster to take the same course from the dam sidenear the land of John Martin. deceased, t o the same line near RichardPooles and so into the woods from my son Lancaster's line to cont aine 300acres to him my son John Lovett and to his hyers forever.
Item: I give and bequeath to my sonne Thomas Lovett 200 acres of landwest joining my son mo L ovett's part and so to extend to a line of markedtrees from the line west of Rich Poole's t o the dam next to Martin'sland, running NE & part of my 800 acres of land from 400 acres belo ngingto Malathy Thurston, the said 200 acres to belong to my said son ThomasLovett and to hi s heirs forever.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Randolph Lovett 300 acres of landlying and being at Lin haven xxx between the land now in possession ofGeorge___& Richard ___ to my said son Randolp h and to his hyers forever,butt in case either of my said sons shall happen to die under ag e orwithout issue my will is that his or their part of the land herein givento them shall des cend to the next brother in age to the deceased or incase there be none younger then to ascen d to the next of age above him
to them or either of them and to their hyers forever, to them as long asthere is either one o f my sons living, no part of any of my said land tofall to either of my daughters of whatsoev er form they be.
Item: I give and bequeath all my flock of cattle with their increase atthe Eastern Shore whic h now are at and use the plantation which ThomasLambert now lives on or what of them shall b e living at my decease untomy two daughters Mary and Elizabeth Lovett to be equally divided b etweenthem and to be their full portion of cattle.
Item: I give and bequeath to my son Randolph Lovett all my flock ofcattle that are at and us e the plantation of Benj. Burrows with theirincrease or what of them shall be remaining at-m y decease to be his fullportion of cattle.
Item: I give and bequeath the rest of my cattle that use at home orelsewhere cxcepting thos e before given one third to my loveing wife AnnLovett and the other two thirds to be equall y divided between my threesons Lancaster, and is their full portion of cattle.
Item: I give and bequeath all the rest of my estate whatsoever of whatkind nature or qualit y xxx one third part thereof to my loving wife AnnLovett and the other two thirds part to b e equally divided amongst mychildren herein named and to be and remain in possession of my lo veingwife Ann Lovett and my son Lancaster Lovett whom I hereby nominate andappoint my sole an d joint executors until the
rest of my aforesaid children shall be at age or day of marriage whichshall first happen.
Item: I give and bequeath unto Bathsheba my daughter, now wife to JohnLadd, 1000 pounds of to bacco to be paid by my said Executors out of suchof my xxx as she my said daughter shall mak e choice of which shall be dueunto me at my decease which is to be her full part and portio n of myestate. This being my will and desire as is herein considered xxx Inwitness whereo f I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17 October1672."

Postscript: "I Lancaster Lovett having taken into my seriousconsideration my wife's weak cond ition in bringing up so many youngchildren as I leave xxx any payment, notwithstand any clai m or claims inthe xxx or hereafter my come, I therefore do freely and voluntarily giveher al l the linen & woolen made and unmade that I do possess with allxxx; my new gray living coat a nd chef coat and britches I give unto myson Lancaster Lovett and further I desire that my wif e may not be calledto an account for what I do now give unto her for the bringing up of mychi ldren and to dispose of it amongst them as she thinks fit hereafter.The which things I desir e not to be appraised nor to be called to anaccount in the least as concerning them. This bei ng the last part of mywill I desire to be fulfilled, given under my hand and seal this 19 day of March 1673."
