Frances S. Norris, 88, of Rushville, entered eternal rest Dec. 6, 2010 at Rush Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 10, 1922 in Rushville, the daughter of the late Sherman and Edna (Palmer) Safewright. She married W. Richard Norris in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She was a homemaker. She was an active Rush County GOP member who was elected Rush County Clerk form 1969 to 1976 and was deputy clerk for an additional eight years. She also was Noble Township Trustee many years. Her memberships include Little Flatrock Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship.

Survivors include her children, Dianne (Bob) Kelley of Columbus, Joanne (David) Desrochers of Pattersonville, N.Y. and John (Patricia) Norris of Rushville; brother, Bob (Beverly) Safewright of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at Todd Funeral Centre and Crematory, 1600 S. SR 3, Rushville.

Pastor Patrick Smith of Little Flatrock Christian Church will officiate.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at the funeral center.
