Hester was born Feb.17, 1914 to Lee Broughton and Nannie "Smith" Broughton. Nannie developed pulmonary tuberculosis and died in 1917.Lee was drafted in 1918 and sent to France. Lee took Hester to Nannie's relatives, John and Dora Jackson on Fork Rd. Knox County Kentucky. When Lee returned he had many issues due to the war and left Hester with the Jacksons. Lee would marry Eller Smith, and they would have 13 Children which several kept in touch with Hester and her family. She was a loving and caring wife- mother and family member. She is deeply missed.
