Goy Willard Dies at 84
Goy Willard, 84, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 1970, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Curtis Whitehouse, Gravel Switch. He had been in declining health for several months.
Mr. Willard, who made his home at Gravel Switch, was a retired employee of L&N Railroad Company and also farmed. He was a native of Marion County and was the son of the late Charlie and Sarah Texas Mullins Willard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Roller Willard.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Whitehouse and Mrs. J.B. Cooley, Gravel Switch; a son, J.C. Willard, Louisville, a sister, Mrs. Herbert Whitehouse, Bradfordsville; two brothers, Corve and Bert Willard of Gravel Switch, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral as held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Gravel Switch, by the Rev. W.R. Cobb and Rev. Andy Hawkins. Burial was in Roller Cemetery at Gravel Switch.
The body was taken to Bosley Funeral Chapel at Gravel Switch.
