Aunt Daisy Connie Hickey : Wednesday, April 12, 2000
When our Mom had to go to the hospital for an operation or for having a baby. I'm not sure which it was. Aunt Daisy came to stay with us and take care of us 6 kids. That was a big job for her to take on. I know everyone of us loved her with all of our hearts. She was so special. There are three things I remember most about her being there. Her cookies she made in a roll and put in the refrigerator before she cut and baked them. Her combing out her very long hair before she went to bed. And her reading her Bible and praying before she went to bed.
---------------------------------------------
Grandma told me a story one time: And WE ALL KNOW THAT GRANDMA WAS SENSIBLE AND DOWN TO EARTH. She said she was out in the garden, I believe she was on her knees weeding. She said she was worried about Daisy because she was sick and was praying for her as she worked. Grandma said she heard a voice say out loud to her; "DON'T WORRY ABOUT HER, SHE IS MINE." It must be a very wonderful thing to know for a certainty from a very reliable source that someone you love so much is in a much better place than this world after they leave it.
