LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. - Joseph L. Abernathy, 88, Lawrenceville, formerly of Bridgeport, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at the United Methodist Village North Campus.
He was retired from Texas Pipeline, Inc.
His wife, Clella Mae Nally Abernathy of Lawrenceville, survives.
Also surviving is a sister, Betty Jones of New Harmony, Ind., five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be no visitation and Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Ill. has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the White House Christian Church.
