Mrs. Ethel Dixon Gallaway. age 92, of Gatesville. died Saturday, March 4, in a Waco hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Scott's Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Rose officiating. Burial was in Osage Cemetery.

Ethel Gallaway was born Feb. 10, 1908, in Coryell County. She was the daughter of the late Earl Dixon and Carrie Bond Dixon. She married Walter Gallaway on April 8. 1924,in Gatesville and he preceded her in death on Jan. 1. 1973.

They lived in Norton, Texas, where Walter was Pastor of Bront Baptist Church before moving to Coryell City, Texas.

Walter and Ethel had the following children:
Beulah Fay, Joe, Bobbie June, and Joy Gail Galaway.

She lived many years in Coryell City. She was a long-time member of Osage Baptist Church. She was "The Avon Lady" for 33 years.

She loved to garden and cook. She loved to entertain family and friends. She had a positive attitude and she loved life.

She was also preceded in death by one son. Joe Galloway; five brothers. Alfred Dixon, Cecil Dixon, Dewey Dixon, Clay Dixon and J.C. Dixon: and two sisters. Sallie Balkum and Fay Polston.

Survivors include three daughters, Beulah Fay and husband T.A. Penuel of Oklahoma City. Okla., June and husband Gene Hale of Livermore, Calif., and Joy Gallawav of Gatesville: one daughter-in-law. Sue Galloway of Waco; one sister, Jo Marie Newman of Arlington; two brothers. Bob Dixon of San Antonio and Bill Dixon of Coppell; six grandchildren: and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Dixon, Bill McKenzie. Robert Gohlke, Jeff Brown, Bobby Dreyer and James Gallaway, and the honorary pallbearer was Jack Edwards.
