Obituary of A. T. Lambertson
Funeral will be held at 2:30 O’clock Tomorrow Afternoon
Archibald T. Lambertson was born in Dearborn County, Indiana, August 26, 1825, and died June 15, 1909. He lived in Indiana until 1843, when he, one of a family of ten children, immigrated with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lambertson, to Iowa and settled in Bellevue, Iowa, where he resided until 1876. The only survivors are Thomas of DeWitt; William T. of Sabetha, Kansas, and Mrs. Mary Pace of Hiawatha, Kan. He was married Jan. 7, 1848 to Sarah Ann Linsay to whom were born five children, Mrs. Clara Heritage, now deceased; Mrs. Belle Gage, of Palisade, Neb.; Mrs. Gertrude Williams of Oxford Mills, Iowa; Charles L. and Andrew W. Lambertson of this city. His wife died on Nov. 2, 1900.
He enlisted in Company K, Thirty-first Iowa Infantry in the civil war and served his country three years and three monthes, being in many prominent battles and in Sherman’s famous march to the sea.
He moved to Clinton in 1876, where he has since resided, following the business contracting and building until within the last ten years.
He has been a member of the Methodist church about sixty years.
His funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the residence of C. L. Lambertson, 1001 Seventh Avenue by the Rev. T. M. … (rest of clipping lost. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery)
