Corrine Powers Martin, 84, of 1 Martha Franks Drive and widow of Eugene Jackson Martin passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the Laurens County Hospital. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late William Ruckers and Lida Owens Powers. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, the Open Door Sunday School Class and Homebound Ministries. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her son, David Martin and wife Cathy of Laurens; a daughter, Carol Ann Martin and special friend, Tayna L. Fridal of Laurens; three grandchildren, David Austin Martin currently serving in Afghanistan, Katie Ann Forsyth and husband Garrett and Ava Martin-Fridal. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel conducted by Dr. Bev T. Kennedy, Jr. and Dr. Russell Dean with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
