FLORENCE "POLLY" BENHOWER, 97, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Kingston Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Van Wert County, Ohio, she worked as a homemaker. She was a very giving woman contributing to many charities. She loved spending time with her family and going to parties. She enjoyed all animals, she especially loved horses. Surviving are her son, Robert (Delores) Benhower of Fort Wayne; daughter, Jayne Stabler of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary F. Abbott of Tiffin, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Benhower; seven sisters; and two brothers. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial in Eel River Cemetery.
