A service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Katie Benson, who died Sunday, December 2, 2001, in Vancouver. She was 93. Her daughter, Donna Pennington, died in 1995. Mrs. Benson, a homemaker, was born November 28, 1908, and had lived in Vancouver since 1957.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Lloyd, at home; two sons, Dennis of Vancouver and Walt Polley of Toppenish; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Benson worked part time at Del Monte for 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and traveling in their recreational vehicle.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Alzheimer Association, Columbia Willamette Chapter, 1311 N.W. 21st Ave., Portland, OR 97209.
