On March 20, 2021, Bruce Garver wrote the following first draft of a "bio" for Dr. Abby Irene (Dyer) Allen (1856 to January 11, 1931):
Abby Irene Dyer was born during the year 1856 at Hamilton, seat of Butler County, Ohio, to Elbridge Gerry Dyer (1815-1875) and Margaret Morris (Teyrer) Dyer (1826-1916). Of their five children, Abby was the third to be born. The others, in the order of their birth, are: (1) Infant Dyer (1849-1849), (2) William H. Dyer (1853-1922), (4) Albion Morris Dyer (1858-1912), and (5) Margaret Dyer Byard (1865–1966), whose Memorial is managed by "shadowdancer".

On April 10, 1883, in Montgomery County, Ohio, Abby Irene Dyer wed Edmund Turney Allen (1856-1913), who was born in India to Thomas Allen (1824-1898) and Minerva Newton.Allen. Both Abby and Edmund Allen graduated from medical schools and became physicians, with Edmund having specialized in Homeopathy and having received his degrees from the "Cleveland University of Medicine and Surgery, (in 1891 ?); the Cleveland Homeopathy Medical College in , 1881; the Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia in 1909: and the Homeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1886..." Abby Irene Dyer Allen and Edmund Turney Allen raised three children: (1) Thomas Dyer Allen (1888-1956), (2) Margaret Minerva Irene Allen Reynolds (1893–1973). and Edmund Turney Allen, Jr. (Jan. 4, 1896, to Feb. 18, 1943), a pioneer in American military aviation during World War I and known before and during World War II as "the father of modern flight testing" of aircraft.

The Library / Archive of the Chicago History Museum maintains the "medical practice records" of Drs. Edmund T. Allen and Abby Dyer Allen, Chicago physicians, circa 1890 to 1913. These records include "two ledger books from the medical practice of Drs. Edmund T. Allen and Abby (Abbie) Dyer Allen, mostly describing their examinations with patients suffering from eye ailments. Also included are photocopies from (the) Chicago Medical Directory identifying their biographical backgrounds".

Dr. Edmund Turney Allen, Sr., died at the age of fifty-six in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, on August 17, 1913, where he was interred two days later on August 19, 1913, at Mount Hope Cemetery. Dr. Abby Irene Dyer Allen died on January 11, 1931, in Hamilton, Ohio, and was interred there two days later on January 13, 1931, at Greenwood Cemetery in Section VAU, Lot 643, Grave 12.
