Howard Simmons was able to prove that the three were buried here with a reasonable certainty. In 1936 George Simmons [son of Benjamin Franklin Simmons, son of Silas Simmons] took Howard to Old Enon Baptist Church and told him that the three were buried there. At that time the fieldstones were still in place. Howard Simmons died 01 Sep 1999.
A memorial marker was placed by some family members, however, the inscription is not completely correct.
Thomas was born abt. 1843 per the 1850 and 1860 Perry Co, MS censuses. He appears in the 1860 Perry Co, MS census in the household of his oldest sister and her husband [Henry Dearman and Elizabeth Simmons Dearman] so he died sometime after 18 Aug 1860.
