Evangeline Savage, 80, of Burlington, died at 7:44 PM Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Great River Medical Center - Klein Center in Burlington.

Born December 13, 1929, in Spirit Lake, IA, she was the daughter of Conrad Axel and Judith Pauline Lundquist Swanson. On April 23, 1949, she married William Eugene "Bill" Savage in Canton, MO. He passed away on July 30, 1992.

Evangeline worked at the YWCA childcare for 25 years. She was a 1949 graduate of Burlington High School She was of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, golfing, skiing and the outdoors.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Savage of Tucson, AZ, Richard (Gail) Savage of Las Cruces, NM, and William (Gracie) Savage of San Antonio, TX; three daughters, Laura Johnson of Burlington, Julie (Jerome) Thomas of O'Fallon, MO, and Holly (Scott) Logas of Burlington; 16 grandchildren, Natalie, Rachael, Megan, Justin, Shannon, Jennifer, Bradley, Emily, Alex, Hannah, Tyler, Savannah, Melissa, Ashley, Derek, and Amy; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Marian Anderson of New London, Margaret Huisman of Elmwood, IL, Doris Anderson of Fulton, IL, and Gloria DeLashmutt of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Leslie Savage-ghavami, two brothers and four sisters.

As per Evangeline's request cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be from noon until 7:30 PM with the family to receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The memorial service for Mrs. Savage will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church with Reverend Wayne Weissenbuehler officiating. Inurnment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Great River Medical Center - Klein Center Alzheimer's Sapphire Unit.
