Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schuette attended the funeral of their relative, Mrs. Lena
Eilers at Craig, Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Eilers died June 25 at her home
following a brief illness. She was born August 7, 1858 at Mt. Olive, Illinois
and was married to Gerhardt Eilers in 1876 coming to Plymouth county in 1905 and
lived in both Plymouth and Sioux Counties until 1926 when she moved to Craig and
since resided; her husband preceded her in death in 1905 and also a son and a
daughter. Funeral services were conducted from the St. John's American Lutheran
church in Craig with Rev. Walter Schmidt officiating with burial in the Ireton
cemetery. Survivors are five sons and three daughters who are Mrs. Lena
Schuette, Mrs. Anna Schuette and Louis Eilers of Craig, Mrs. Minnie Bultman of
Hawarden, Dick, Henry and John Eilers of Le Mars and Will Eilers of Ireton.
