until promoted to Major to rank from Feb 20,
1863, and transferred to the Field & Staff
of this unit.(8th Regiment NC Troops)
Present or accounted for until he died
at Charleston, SC, April 22, 1863, of
"typhoid fever."

In Charleston, April 22nd, of typhoid fever, Maj. HENRY McRAE, of the 8th Regiment N.C. Troops, aged 35 years.
His friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend his funeral at 4 o'clock this afternoon, from the residence of his father, Gen'l McRae, to Oakdale Cemetery.
