Margaret J. Derenzy
Margaret J. Derenzy, 87, of East Jordan died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.
She was born on September 13, 1918, in Atwood, Michigan, the daughter of Ervin and Pearl (Santoes) Lord. On March 1, 1941, in East Jordan, she married Gerald G. Derenzy. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1998.
Margaret had retired in 1980 from Gulf & Western in East Jordan, formerly known as Dura, after working 21 years. She was a memebr of American Legion Auxiliary of Rebec-HoslerSweet Post #227 in East Jordan. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and her dog and cat.. She greatly loved all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Tom (Carol) Derenzy of East Jordan, Brad (Maureen) Derenzy of Gaylord, Nancy (Gail) Eby of East Jordan, Glenn (Donna) Derenzy of East Jordan and Chris (Debbie) Derenzy of East Jordan; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Glenn and Charles Lord and two sisters, Ela Hegenar and Frances Jolliffe.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 1, 2006, at 11 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Bart Adams of the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan officiated. Interment in Morehouse Cemetery in Echo Township, Antrim County. Memorials may be given to East Jordan Ambulance Association.
