Gravel Switch Man Succumbs in Louisville
James Carrico, 91-year-old Gravel Switch resident, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Effie (sic Essie) B. Martin, in Louisville, with whom he had spent the past three weeks.
He was a Marion County native, son of Ambrose and Anna Mattingly Carrico. His wife is deceased.
Survivors include two other daughters, Mrs. Len Roller and Mrs. Frank Orberson, both of Gravel Switch; three sons, W.R. and Levy (sic Levi) Carrico, both of Gravel Switch, and Geroge Carrico, who lives in Florida; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The body was at Bosley Funeral Home until 2:30 p.m. Monday when funeral services were conducted at Gravel Switch Methodist Church by the Rev. Curtis Bonner of Wilmore. Burial was in Haysville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom, Kenny, and Jimmy Orberson, Edgar Berry, Louis (sic Lewis) Shannon and Billy Calvert.
