Victim of the 1913 Easter Tornado.
4-4-1913, The Otoe Union:
Joy Edward Davis was born April 5th, 1906, departing this life Sunday evening March 23, 1913 in the terrible tornado that swept away the Davis home. He was baptised in the Methodist church at the age of six months and later taken into the cradle roll from which he had lately been promoted to the primary department. The funeral was held from the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Jacobson Wednesday afternoon March 26th, Rev. A.O. Hinson speaking a few comforting words and conducting the touching service at the grave. The funeral was private because of the condition of both parents.
Joy was a bright little lad and a dutiful and obedient son and his loss will ever be mourned by those who knew and loved him. Words are not possible to express the sympathy that is felt by the friends of the stricken parents and relatives.
