Gwen Rouland 1924-2004

Gwen Rouland, 80, of Crookston, died on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at the Riverview Hospital in Crookston.
She was born January 5, 1924 in Clearbrook, the daughter of Art and Ella Lund.
She grew up and attended school at Clearbrook, graduating from Clearbrook High School in 1942. While in high school, she played the trumpet in the high school band.
She married Arnold Rouland on December 19, 1943 at Oklee, Minnesota. They lived at the Rouland family farm until moving to Crookston many years ago. Gwen worked as a cook at St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Crookston for many years.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and wine making. Gwen was a member of the Crookston congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna Mae Rouland (DelSantos), Charlotte Rouland, both of Crookston, and Ramona Ostlund of Shasta Lake City, California; sons, Arnold Jr. of Crookston, and John of Thief River Falls; a sister,Iona Moen of Bagley; three brothers, Royal Lund of Cameron, Wisconsin, Romaine (Dick) Lund of Bagley, and Undo Lund of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Wittinesses in Bagley, with Ray Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Samhold Lutheran Cemetery at Gonvick.
The Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
