NEW SITE ‑ Shermon Barron, 77, died Saturday, December 28, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a self‑employed logger for several years and a U.S Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church. He loved his Concurs, hunting and fishing
Services will be al 3 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glenn Jones and Bro. lack Whitley officiating. Burial will be in the Little Brown Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Edith Hunt Barron; one daughter, Kathy King and her husband, Bob, of Video, Ark; one son, Sherron Hunt Barron and his wife, Freda, of Booneville, three sisters, Lorene Kidd of Amory, Louise Smith of Booneville and Johnnie Palmer of Melton, Ala., four brothers, Travis Barron of North Carolina, Clyde Barron and Joe Barron, bath of Belmont, and Henry "Junebug" Barron of New Site, three grandchildren, Sports Barron, Justin King and his wife, Michelle, and Julian King.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Barron; one sister, Annie Mae Barron; and a grandson, Bradley Hunt Barron.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Johnson, Capon Cagle, Odell Jourdon, Nathan Harrison Clayton Wilemom and Tammy Nix. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mt. Pisgah Adult Men Sunday School Class and two special friends, Richard Mayo and Holly Sparks.
Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.
