NEW SITE - Henry "June Bug" Barron Jr., 74, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare in Ripley. He was a self-employed logger, a member of East Prentiss Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating and Bro. Steve Holliday assisting. Burial will be in East Prentiss Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joy McCombs Barron of New Site; two daughters, Kay Wigginton and husband, Leon, of New Site, and Debra Barron of Booneville; two sisters, Lorene Kidd of Amory, and Johnnie Palmer and husband, Russell, of Moulton, Ala.; three brothers, Travis Barron of North Carolina, and Clyde Barron and Joe Barron of Belmont; two grandchildren, Jason Wigginton and Kayla Robinson; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Barron and Jerry Wayne Barron; two brothers, Thurman and Shermon Barron; and two sisters, Annie Mae Barron and Louise Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jim Jacobs, Greg Taylor, Chris Ratliff, Michael Brasel, Doug Crow, Larry Harris, Wayne Stutts and Larry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Taylor, Sylvester Crow, Taylor Slaughter, Hubert Brasel, L.C. Wright and James Hester. Visitation will continue until service time today.
