Funeral services are held here for Mrs. Helen P. Bates
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Petit Bates, daughter of the late Douglas C. and Nellie Olney Petit, who died Thursday, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Petit residence, 407 Oak Street. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
Mrs. Bates, who is survived by her husband, Carlton Bates; a son, Douglas, and a daughter, Ann had been at the family summer home at the Thousand Islands and was on her way to Syracuse to meet her husband Thursday when she was taken ill and brought to the University Hospital of the Good Shepherd, where she died.
Her home had been in Detroit, Mich., for the last four years.
