Final Services For Bella May Pritts

Bella May, fourth child of Wm. and Sarah Corman Zeigler, was born March 11, 1875 at Jacksonville, Pa. She passed away January 14, 1966 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Sweet, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 2 days.

When just a few months of age her family left that state and traveling by covered wagon, came to Nebraska, establishing a home south of Nelson.

There she grew to young womanhood, October 31, 1897, she was united in marriage to Jesse A. Pritts. To this union was born two daughters. They made their home on a farm north east of Guide Rock until 1933 when they moved to Guide Rock. Four years ago she came to live with her children.

Mrs. Pritts was a member of the Christian church, faithful in its services as her health permitted and a good friend and neighbor.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters, Ulah Barnason of Red Cloud, Veda Sweet of Clarks and their husbands Perry Barnason and Frank Sweet, her grandchildren Jesse Barnason, Red Cloud; Duane Barnason, Blue Hill; Marilyn Dexter, Clarks; Miriam Truesdell of Central City. Fourteen great -grand children and one sister, Mrs. Roy Ryker of Wellfleet, Nebr. She also left many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, six sisters and two brothers.

Beautiful rest for the weary

When our lifes journey is ended

This helps to quiet our weeping

He giveth to His beloved
Beautiful, beautiful sleep.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pritts were conducted from the Christian Church at Guide Rock, Sunday, January 26. Rev. Daniel Escritt was in change. Burial was in the Guide Rock cemetery (sic).

With Miss Shirey Hunter at the piano, Mrs. Evelyn Thompson and Miss Connie Hunter sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden." Honor pallbearers were Robert Robb, Leo Huffman, Lorin Bailey, Bud Fisher, Jess Hager, Lloyd Zimmerman. Acting pallbearers were Maurice Ryker, William Dexter, Gerald Truesdell, Jesse Barnason, Duane Barnason, Emerson Rogers.

Relatives who came from out of town for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sweet, Mr. and Mrs. William Dexter and family of Clarks; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Truesdell of Central City; Mrs. Roy Ryker and Mrs. Henry Cooper of Ramona, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Corn and Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Rogers of Lincoln; Maurice Ryker of Brewster; Mrs. Leigh Fitzgerald of Hayes Center; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brandes of Maywood, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Zeigler of Nelson; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pritts of Doniphan; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Pritts of Sheldon; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Barnason and daughter of Red Cloud; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Barnason and family of Blue Hill.
