Al Zeigler Passed Away Friday

Alvin Wilson Zeigler, son of William and Sarah (Corman) Zeigler, was born March 12,1873, in Manion (sic) township, Center (sic) county, Pennsylvania.

While he was a very small child, the family moved to Illinois and soon thereafter removed to Saunders county (sic), Nebraska. They came to Nuckolls county (sic) in 1880 and made their home on a farm four miles south of Nelson. They built the first frame house on the highway between Nelson and Superior.

On December 26, 1897, Mr. Zeigler was married at Nelson to Miss Mary Ann Thompson.

They moved to Guide Rock in 1905. The first ten years here Mr. Zeigler was proprietor of a livery barn. Since 1915 the family lived most of the time on a farm, moving back into town about four years ago.

There are ten grandchildren: Betty Allsman of Chester; Doneta, Ruby Ann, Ronald and Frances Joy Zeigler of North Platte; Dolores, JoeAnn, Bobbie and Shirley Zeigler of Edgar; Retta Kay Zeigler of Bostwick. There is one great grandchild, Lana Jo Allsman of Chester.
